Dexcom G7
The Dexcom G7 Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) system tracks your glucose levels in real time, sending readings to your smartphone or dedicated receiver every five minutes—no fingerstick calibration required. A small sensor worn on the abdomen or upper arm measures glucose just beneath the skin, while the app displays current levels, trend arrows, and alerts for highs and lows before they become a problem. Compatible with select insulin pumps for integrated closed-loop therapy, the G7 empowers people with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes to make more confident, informed decisions about food, activity, and medication.
Is the Dexcom G7 covered by Medicare or Medicaid?
The Dexcom G7 is generally covered by Medicare part B and most Medicaid plans. Note that coverage varies by state, clinical need, and insurance payor. We'll confirm your coverage and eligibility before your order is finalized.
Who is the Dexcom G7 appropriate for?
The G7 is FDA-approved for adults and children ages 2 and up with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes who require insulin or have a history of hypoglycemia.
Does the Dexcom G7 replace fingerstick testing entirely?
In most cases, yes—the G7 is designed for no-calibration use. A clinician may still recommend occasional fingerstick confirmation in specific situations.
What devices is the Dexcom G7 compatible with?
The G7 is compatible with a wide range of iOS and Android smartphones, as well as a standalone receiver. Compatibility with specific insulin pumps is also available. A clinician will confirm device compatibility.
