Hoyer Lift
A Hoyer lift is a hydraulic patient lift designed to safely transfer individuals with significant mobility limitations between a bed, wheelchair, recliner, or any other surface—without placing strain on caregivers or patients. It allows a single caregiver to complete a full transfer, while compatible slings cradle the patient securely throughout. By eliminating manual lifting, a Hoyer lift substantially reduces the risk of falls and caregiver injury, making safe in-home care more sustainable over time. A clinician will help identify the right lift and sling combination based on your specific needs and home setup.
Is a Hoyer lift covered by Medicare or insurance?
Hoyer lifts are generally covered by Medicare part B and most Medicaid plans. Note that coverage varies by state and clinical need, we'll confirm your coverage and eligibility before your order is finalized.
What is the weight limit of the Hoyer lift?
The standard Hoyer lift supports up to 450 lbs.
What type of sling do I need?
Sling style depends on the type of transfer being performed and the patient's level of trunk support. A clinician will help select the right sling during your consultation.
Do I need a caregiver to operate the lift?
Yes. A Hoyer lift is designed to be operated by a caregiver. Your team will receive guidance on safe operation during setup.
Will someone help with delivery and setup?
