Is the wheelchair covered by Medicare or Medicaid?
Manual wheel chairs are generally covered by Medicare part B and most Medicaid plans. Note that coverage varies by state and clinical need, we'll confirm your coverage and eligibility before your order is finalized.
How do I determine the right wheelchair size?
Seat width is typically 1–2 inches wider than the widest part of your hips. A clinician will ensure a proper fit during your consultation.
What's included in the wheelchair package?
The package includes the wheelchair frame, footrests, armrests, and any standard accessories. A clinician will confirm exactly what's covered under your plan.
Can the wheelchair be self-propelled?
Yes. Standard manual wheelchairs have large rear wheels that allow the user to self-propel if they have sufficient upper body strength. Caregiver-pushed configurations are also available.
How do I transport the wheelchair in a vehicle?
Most standard wheelchairs fold flat and fit in the trunk of a standard sedan or SUV. A clinician can recommend lightweight models if portability is a priority.
