Transfer Bench
A transfer bench makes getting in and out of the bathtub dramatically safer by letting you sit down outside the tub and slide across—no stepping over the tub wall required. Two legs sit inside the tub and two outside, with independently adjustable heights to keep the seat level. A sturdy backrest and side handle provide support while sliding across, and non-slip feet keep the bench firmly planted. It's an excellent option for those with significant balance or mobility concerns during bathing.
Is a transfer bench covered by Medicare or Medicaid?
Transfer benches are generally covered by Medicaid and Managed Medicaid. Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and Essential Plan policies do not typically cover transfer benches. How is a transfer bench different from a shower chair?

Will it fit my bathtub?

Does the bench block the shower curtain?
The bench extends over the tub wall, so the curtain won't close fully. Many people tuck the curtain around the bench or use a split curtain to limit splashing.
